historic building, quirky internal decor, comfortable rooms
Parking is adequate, but that’s hardly a selling point!!! The room featured mismatched furniture with torn material and broken blinds. I expected a cleaner bathroom, especially behind the toilet seat!!!

My recent weekend at this hotel was fantastic as it put me in walking distance to several remarkable landmarks like the stunning Tredegar House Country Park, which offers beautiful scenic views and is nearly 2.5 km away, making my stroll incredibly enjoyable. plus, I loved being just a short walk from Newport Castle, where I could soak in the local history while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

My stay at The Waterloo Hotel & Bistro was delightful, featuring a lovely blend of historic charm and modern comfort. Surrounding area feels neglected.

The location is excellent for those trekking the Welsh Coast Path, providing direct access and plush, spacious rooms with comfy beds and hearty meals. The bistro offers mouthwatering dishes, adding to the overall appeal of the experience.
The overall condition leaves much to be desired. rooms could use a thorough clean, with many showing stains and wear like torn bed linens and carpet. The shower setup lacks adjustability, allowing water to fall uncontrollably, and the bar hours are restrictive, only opening at 6 PM, limiting opportunities for a drink after a long day. Plus, parking can be tricky, particularly with a larger vehicle due to narrow entryways.
